ANALOGUE ATTIC RECORDINGS // TECHNICOLOUR // LIVE AT ROBERT JOHNSON // FEEL MY BICEP // MAGNETRON MUSIC // LAST NIGHT ON EARTH // SOOTHSAYER // FXHE // HEIST
'Liquid melodies and eyes closed hypnotism' - beautiful equilibrium exists in music that is electronic; refined and processed, but still maintains the strongest sense of natural or tribal atmosphere and texture.
Centering mostly on ALBRECHT LA'BROOY, who were put up by Four Four for the Voyage Showcase at Sugar back in January [Sean La'Brooy and Alex Albrecht], aswell as some of those involved in ANALOGUE ATTIC; RINGS OF SATURN and SLEEP D. These dudes, based in Melbourne, integrate softer, purer sounding ambient electronic into the dance scene. Deep progressive cuts; Balearic waves that are enough to float anyone's boat - a slight deviation to the cosmic vibes of Bicep, Floating Points or a Willaris K. set. The duo's 'Good Morning Passengers' EP in the earlier days, which 'was created using field sounds and photographs from four stations: Richmond, Canterbury, Box Hill and Tecoma'. Subsequently it's not hard to understand the sound feels organically grown.
